Our History

2000

Kristen Moore creates and maintains a successful ecommerce website, enabling her to quit her full time job and attend classes at Marshalltown Community College, as well as continuing to develop websites for local business owners.

2004

Kristen (Monroe) Moore graduates from Marshalltown Community College with honors (3.96 GPA).

2005

Kristen Moore founds Ultimate Web Design, LLC. 

2006

Kristen Moore opens the doors to her first brick and morter office, located on State Street in Marshalltown, IA.

2007

Ultimate Web Design hires it's first employee, and begins to expand. Kristen (Monroe) Moore is awarded one of Marshalltown's 30 Under 40.

2008

Kristen (Monroe) Moore is awarded the 2008 Chamber Volunteer of the Year.  She is also featured in the local paper in the article entitled Women of Today.

2009

Ultimate Web Design relocates to the Woodbury building on the corner of Main and 1st Avenue, Marshalltown.

 

2010

Kristen participates in the Youth-4-Iowa Summer Work Program through the Iowa Works, mentoring two young women set goals, enhance their work ethic, increase their communication skills and advance in school. View the video.

2011

Ultimate Web Design continues to grow, Kristen increases the size of her team to as many as 10 for certain projects.  Kristen participates for the second year in the Youth for Iowa Summer Work Program.

2012

Ultimate Web Design launches two new locations.  One is located in the Hub Tower, downtown Des Moines, the other at the West Glenn Town Center in West Des Moines.  Kristen (Monroe) Moore continues to teach computer applications for Iowa Valley Continuing Education.

 

2013

Kristen re-evaluates her personal and professional goals, and makes a few significant decisions.  With her recent marriage, the addition of two teenage step-daughters and baby on the way, the continued growth at Ultimate Web Design must slow.  She decides to step it back to the single office in Marshalltown, and work mainly on her own, subcontracting work to independant contractors as needed, enabling her sufficient time to focus not only on her work but her new and growing family.

2014

With a brand new baby at home, Kristen successfully transformed UWD back to a home based business.  Once Alice was big enough Kristen opened her new location in Colfax, Iowa, sharing a space with their new flooring business, Moore Family Flooring.
